Personally I love decorating with table runners, placemats and fabric napkins. We already offer the Bella Taylor line of quilted purses in great fabric prints that are similar to Vera Bradley. The same company who makes Bella Taylor also offers quilted and woven table linens by Nancy’s Nook from Victorian Heart.

This year we are trying to diversify outside of my home fragrance comfort zone. I do tend to offer products that I myself would personally buy; so it wasn’t much of a stretch for us to try adding a few new table linens to see if our customers like them as much as I do.

In keeping with an eye toward value for 2009, I have chosen items that are reasonably priced. We now have available: Table Runners, Placemats, Napkins and Aprons in gorgeous traditional prints. There are also some gorgeous new quilted fabric tote bags and cute Faith Backpacks for students.

Because so many of our customers are mature women, we know you love to pick up a little gift now and then for the grandchildren. When I saw this great line of beautifully painted childrens home decor accessories by Tatutina, I knew our customers would love them!

We are starting out with wastebasket, picture frames, wind chimes, medals and melamine dish sets. There is a precious little art caddy, some storage mini-bins, pegboards, wall accents, recipe box and removable/temporary kids tattoos.

These are primarily made of MDF board with white paint and brightly colored animals.

Tatutina is based in Attleboro, Mass and is a family-run business. They also make a wicked cute Menu Box for storing all those take out menus in one handy place.

Our local customers are loving these beautiful Lamp Paradise effusion style oil-burning lampes. These are similar to Lampeberger but without the prestigious high price.

We started out a few months ago with about 4 styles along with their wonderful lamp oils. (Folks in the business call this type of lamp oil “Juice”.) When we sold out, we decided to offer several new styles which have just recently arrived:
We now offer 9 different styles/colors/sizes.

Effusion lampes are wonderful odor neutralizers that add beautiful fragrance to any room. I personally use mine in the kitchen almost every night after cooking supper. Many ladies use them in the bedroom and they will work wonderfully in any room. The concept is from the late 1800’s when Parisian Hospitals used these to disinfect the air in hospital rooms. The catalytic stone & wick burner somehow neutralizes odors while the scented oil adds great fragrance.

Once you purchase a lamp, the oil will last quite a while depending upon how long and often you burn the lamp. The most important thing with these lamps is to light the stone and let the open flame burn for 2 minutes. (I set my stove timer.) Then blow out the flame and replace the slotted top cap. When you’ve had enough, you remove the slotted cap and replace it with the solid snuffer cap. When refilling, you must let the wick soak up oil for 15-20 minutes before attempting to light.

We offer replacement wick & stone assemblies along with Purifier oil by Greenleaf that will clean your stone or dilute scents that you may find to be too strong.

Summer is almost here and who doesn’t need a new tote bag for trips to the beach? Our new line by JoAnn Marie Designs is so pretty!

Fresh Bet’s retail store switched over to all paper bags last year and we no longer use plastic bags. We have been using biodegradable corn starch packing peanuts for at least 5 years and we recycle all of our inbound boxes and packing materials. The Fresh Bet store is saving green with CFL bulbs and timers for lighting and lots of re-purposing of displays, etc.

In January, when we visited the gift show, the Aromatique folks gave us samples of their lotion in Grapefruit Fandango, Splendor in the Bath and Fresh Air. The Grapefruit lotion is new and it’s simply wonderful.

Over the past months, I’ve been using those samples and have really grown to love their rich lotion. So, I thought it was time to go ahead and add more Aromatique bodycare for our Freshbet customers. These are very nice lotions that are not greasy and they absorb quickly and really have fabulous fragrance with splendid moisturizing results.

Aromatique bath products are reasonably priced and beautifully presented. Lotions sell for $12.00 each and I find they last a very long time. We have added their Grapefruit Fandango lotion and the smell is so fresh and clean; like a freshly cut Grapefruit.

Fresh Air is not a new scent for Aromatique, but it is a new offering for us at Fresh Bet. I personally LOVE this scent and find myself switching back and forth between Fresh Air and Grapefruit Fandango. We sell alot of Splendor in the Bath which is a more old-fashioned type scent. We have recently had customers requesting bubble bath, so we just added their Splendor Bubble Bath refill which you can place into your own decorative glass container.
