We try to be as price-competitive as possible, so the other day I decided to have a look at our TC AutoFoam Soap Refills & Dispensers. As a result, I have decreased our sell price on these items so we can continue to be your low cost supplier for TC product.

I have just received a price increase notice from Technical Concepts. Effective July 1, 2008 there will be 5-10% increase due to raw material cost increases.

Mr. Whartnaby of TC says it has been 3-5 years since their last price increase and that they are doing their best to control costs and remain competitively priced.

We are all aware of increases in oil, packaging materials, steel and plastics. TC is committed to continue developing innovative hygiene solutions. As consumers, your understanding is most appreciated as we strive to enjoy the simple things in life during these difficult times.

TC’s new AutoFoam Hand Soap dispensers and refills are wonderful. Who doesn’t love a rich, creamy foam soap handwash these days? All the better restrooms are converting over to foam hand soaps for their enhanced performance over gel type handwashes.

TC has been offering their hand sanitizer refills for the past year or longer in a bag style refill that works with a wall-mounted dispenser. Their standard dispenser is manual and requires the consumer to push the front panel. Because TC is the industry leader in restroom automation, providing “Touch-Free” ADA compliant devices; they have now developed an alcohol-free hand sanitizer that works in their AutoFoam dispenser.

We have been getting the new rounded shoulder style Microburst 3000 cans for many months. I recently noticed they are now 2 oz, where the older style was 1.8 oz.

Last week we had an email from Linda regarding the difference. She noted they sometimes are a tight fit when replacing the refill in the Microburst 3000 dispenser. I had recently noticed the same thing; so I decided to forward Linda’s concern to the Technical Concepts Factory.

We have been transitioning over to the new “round shoulder” MB3000 cans since 2007. These new cans should fit all MB3000 dispensers.

It’s possible the hammer in the dispenser is in the down position, so they would have to lift up with their little finger before inserting the new can.

TC is a wonderful company to represent. They are constantly creating new products and fragrances to retain their innovative edge. This week they sent us their new Sugar Cookie T-Cell refill, so I am testing it in my kitchen now.

Jerry and Sarah tell me they have now released the following new air freshener refills:

Sadly with today’s high fuel prices UPS is raising our costs by 5% for 2008 for all ground shipments. These new rates will go into effect on December 31, 2007 for calendar year 2008. Below is an excerpt from their notification:

As 2008 approaches, all of us at UPS would like to express our appreciation for your continued business. To help you plan for the coming year, we want you to know about new UPS rates and services that will take effect December 31, 2007.

UPS published small package Daily Rates will change as follows*: UPS Ground and UPS Standard to Canada services will increase 4.9%. Air and International express services will increase a net 4.9% through a combination of a 6.9% increase in rates and a 2% reduction in the air and international fuel surcharge.

Changes will also be made to accessorial charges. Delivery Area Surcharges and Residential Surcharges will increase by $0.10. The Additional Handling charge will increase by $0.50 and the charge for Address Corrections for UPS Ground packages will increase by $1.00. The charge for Declared Value will increase by $0.05 per $100 of Declared Value, with a minimum charge of $1.80, and you, as the shipper, will have the option to bill Declared Value charges for Freight Collect shipments to your account.
