Claire Burke Warmer Refills are back!

I am delighted to report that the Factory has finally received their shipments of Original and Apple Jack Warmer Refills. These are produced in Portugal, so when the Factory warehouse runs out, it’s a long haul before more arrive.

We have plenty on order and they have notified us that some of our backorders have now shipped. We expect these to start arriving on Monday, June 4th. As of this writing, they have not yet shipped us enough to fill all of our customer backorders; however, we expect they will work over the weekend to get more shipments ready to go out.

Please know we will start shipping customer backorders just as soon as these arrive. We will be shipping the oldest orders first and you will receive an email tracking confirmation as soon as your shipment has been completed.

The Factory has also notified us that the new Base Unit Warmers will not be available until the end of June. No worries there, take advantage of our 10% off sale on all the other Warmer Units with oil refill as we deplete these items. Click here for Warmers on Sale!

We truly appreciate your patience!

Wilma’s Simmer Oil recommendations

Here’s an email from Wilma in Montana:

********************
I did look at your blog and your store is so very tasteful. It will be a favorite stopping off place for many people, I’m sure, as they find out about it.

Did I tell you - I found out where the little simmering pot I found was available and ordered two more of them. I’m covered for quite awhile. I don’t use them as much in the summertime…..but will be ordering simmering oil again one of these days. It’s always odd to me how some scents last longer than others. These pots are small and do not get overly hot. The scents lasting the longest are Apple Jack and Peel; Christmas Memories, Original and Wisteria. The others seem to evaporate more quickly. Just thought this might be useful information for you.

Good Night from Montana……

I have emailed Wilma to share the make and model of her great electric simmer pot. I’ll post it here when I hear back from her.

Here is Wilma’s response rec’d 5/29/07:

Bet -

This is the information regarding the item I finally found which I use for a simmering pot with your Fresh Bet Simmering Oils. You may not want to post this on your blog, since you’ll find it to be a bit confusing.

The item is like a very small, decorative crock-pot. I believe when I measured it holds two cups of water. There are no controls on it, it just plugs in and gets to a certain temperature level which is not as hot as a crock pot. I place mine on my burner unit in the kitchen for safety reasons, as I don’t want it making marks on furniture or such.

This item is “not” intended to be a simmering pot, it was listed in the website site as a “Mixer Melter”. There are small squares of various fragrances of waxes which are sold to be used with it. These squares, two to three, are put into the pot and when it is plugged in and warmed enough the melted wax gives a fragrance throughout the house, according to the information in the website.

I prefer Fresh Bet Simmering Oils to using the wax. I fill it with the most hot water possible out of my faucet and plug it in. I am using about 3-4 tablespoons of the simmering oil with each full pot. It does not get as hot as a crock-pot, which is why it works. The water does finally evaporate and it has to be refilled and more simmering oil added.

I don’t always wash and clean it between fillings….as it works okay to just keep adding water and oil for 3-4 days. Then I finally pour the leftover water/oil mixture into empty coffee cans or jars. I hesitate to pour this down the drain, as I think the oil would eventually build up on the pipes.

This is the company name which is shown on the bottom of the pot I purchased locally:

Tyler Candle Co.

I just did a search for this company and at this time found the site and it said it is “under construction”. But in doing some further searching of sites which sold Tyler products, I finally found one where this Mixer Melter was shown. There was the exact pattern I had bought, and some other choices of patterns.

I ordered two additional pots which were $16.95 each, plus S&H.

I had an email message right after I placed the order, but I disposed of the email message and just saved the invoice which was in the box and the items actually came from a company called, DCB Collectibles.

I did a search for DCB Collectibles just now and, at least in my search, none of these waxer melters were shown, just all kinds of collectible candles. Big Mystery?????

I often order things on the web…..and when the shipment arrives it is from a company of an entirely different name than where I did the ordering. But it is the item I ordered. So far I haven’t researched or delved into this too much, for lack of time and because I did get the items ordered.

The web at times is kind of a mystery to me????

I’m sure you or one of the women who works for you who may be very computer savvy, could find out more about the Tyler Candle Company and find this item on their site….and also find out why this item doesn’t show up on the DCB Collectibles website page since this is where my invoice shows shipping to be from this company?????

One last thought….I have been looking at Tyler Candles now for several years. Coincidentally, I have an appointment with their Rep next week. These are beautiful and strong candles made in Texas. The fragrance names have “attitude” and are kinda cute. So…maybe we’ll add them to our offering eventually!

Thanks to Wilma for ‘thinking outside the box’ when it came to using a wax tart melter for her simmering oils! The bowl must be quite large on her model to hold 2 cups of liquid. Our wax melters by Greenleaf & Levine are shallow bowls that hold several wax tarts. With the Greenleaf warmer, you can remove the bowl and place a wickless candle on top.

Email Bet if you are interested in our carrying Tyler Candles.

Claire Burke Original Warmer Refills

I am so frustrated to have to report that the Claire Burke Factory has pushed out the availability for Original Warmer Refills again.

Their last promise to us was 5/22 and now we are being told they hope these will arrive the 1st week of June. I’m having a bit of trouble getting a straight answer this time; so please don’t think we aren’t sharing our information with you.

We are hopeful these will arrive at their warehouse in the next few weeks. Please know that as soon as our shipment arrives from the Factory, your backorders will be shipped right away!

Again our apologies for this discouraging delay…

Archipelago Botanicals Milk Bodycare

I have wanted to add the Archipelago Botanicals line for quite some time now. In my usual fashion, we are starting with a small offering and if it does well, we will expand.

Several years ago I tried the Milk facial wash and loved how soft it made my face. It is very fresh and clean; a wonderful light and comforting fragrance that is designed for natural bodycare. Milk is made in several variations by Archipelago Botanicals. They offer their Milk line or Rice, Soy and Oat milk blends.

We are starting with their most popular version of Milk in bodywash, shaving milk, footcare, handwash and bubble bath. The packaging is clean and contemporary, making it ideal for either men or women.

Archipelago Botanicals Milk products are gentle and fortified with Dried Milk Solids, Soy, Oat, and Rice Proteins, and Botanical Extracts (from Arnica Flower, Rosemary and Sage), that leave sensitive skin moisturized and looking young and healthy.

In the Soy Milk Collection, we have Bath Soap, Body Creme and Body Lotion. For intense moisturizing, be sure to try the Body Creme in metal tube!

Carrier/Shipping Changes

This is a quick update to let our customers know of some new changes to our shipping carriers:

  1. The US Postal Service will no longer allow us to ship sprays or perfumes to Canada. They have discontinued the ground service; and these items are prohibited for air shipment. This means we must ship by UPS Ground which is more expensive and may require Canadian customers to pay incoming duties.
  2. FedEx Ground shipments will all be sent with a required signature due to unpaid claims for non-received shipments. This means you must be home to sign for your package or they will not leave it on the porch or doorstep. We have experienced losses when we do not require a signature and sadly this is increasing your delivery time as FedEx must now obtain your signature.
  3. The result is that we will start using UPS more because of these new ‘issues’ with USPS and FEDEX. In certain rural areas, UPS is quite costly. We will do our best not to increase your shipping fees, but UPS levies more fuel surcharges, etc. so we will watch these charges carefully before determining if our shipping charges to our customers must be raised.

I understand this is a very sensitive area; especially with so many websites offering free and discounted shipping rates. Please know that we utilize as many recycled packing materials as possible and DO NOT charge Handling Fees at Freshbet in an attempt to keep our costs as reasonable as possible. We appreciate your patience as we strive to maintain shipping costs which are continually being increased by the carriers. As always, email Bet if you have comments or suggestions.

It’s always a treat to see what new and beautiful products Enchanted Meadow has created. Barbara, their President and “Creative Director” has such a flair for high-end style and design at very affordable prices.

As usual, they have not disappointed us for 2007. In keeping with the fragrance trends for this year, we have 3 wonderful citrus scents and one new oceanic marine scent. Freshbet is pleased to offer you: Verbena Lime, Lemon Thyme and Seville Orange in reed diffusers, refills, candles, room spray and way cool new Aroma Pods.

We have also brought back their Raspberry Nectarine, strictly a Spring/Summer scent in the reed diffuser set & refill. This is a great scent that Enchanted Meadow has had every Spring for the past 3 or 4 years.

Their new Water Crystal is perfect for the bath or boudoir. It’s a delicate, light floral with oceanic marine notes that is perfect for a blue or sea decor. Water Crystal is available in Potpourri, Reed Diffuser Set & Refill, Room Spray and Refresher Oil.

Enchanted Meadow has also released a new scent called: White Sage and Camelia which we are offering in their Reed Diffuser set & refill.
